your mother was a hamster.....Python bigheads

I must have had an awesome time, though.....

two big heads for the price of one

This is my dad's big old head at the Spice Market in Istanbul. That's his Turkey hat. Everyone thought he was Turkish. Luckily he speaks the language fairly well. Isn't Dad handsome?

That's my head, in front of the amphitheatre in Ephesus. Wearing MY Turkey hat as well. I'm not as photogenic as my dad, but we all have our crosses to bear.

obedient

Here's my big head making a muppet face under a sign telling me to wait. So I did.

Bighead Rich, Milan Church

Rich in a church in Milan. Of course, right now, off the top of my head, I can't remember which, but I'll get it straight and report back.

I like the light.

OLIVER!!!!!!

This is Oliver.

He has a big head.

No, really, he does.

It's BIG. Finding hats to fit that guy? Impossible.

But that's ok, because he has a heart to match that's just as big as his humongous cranium.

Oliver. He'd be my brother if I was gonna have another brother. But thank God I don't, because, honestly? The one I got is MORE than enough. I'm brother blessed. Or cursed? I'm not sure, sometimes, which. But I tend to lean towards "bleassed".

julia gives me the finger

Seriously, she cut off the end and gave it to me.

Is she a good friend or what? OK so it's a little Van Gogh, but still, it's appreciated.

OK, she didn't really cut off the end of her finger and give it to me. She was cutting an orange and lopped off the tip of her finger by accident. She's smart like me. Docs say it will "grow back". Wow. Maybe her tail willgrow back too, along with her little tiny horns? Julia is the devil, you know.

Big Monkey Head

This adorable young man is Niko. His mom is a very old friend of mine from WAY back. (Well, she's not old, but we've been friends for a long time, ok?) She's Greek and I was in her Big Fat Greek Wedding. It was awesome. What I remember of it. I was pretty drunk.

Anyhow, Niko and his family were in Mexico and apparently Niko likes monkeys and let this curious George crawl up onto his head. The monkey looks comoortable and Niko looks enthralled, doesn't he?

I would have been FREAKING if it were me, but I am not a little boy.

Niko was thrilled.

I am thrilled to have the picture....

Buddha big head

There will probably be alot of pics of buddhas and big heads in the upcoming weeks, so just deal with it, ok? You can always send me pictures if you get bored and want to see something else.......

This is in Thailand at the ancient city of Ayutthaya, the capital of Thailand before it was sacked by the Burmese in the 1760's annd subsequently moved to the area that is now Bangkok.

peek a boo bighead, Angkor Cambodia

This is at Angkor, Cambodia, though I must admit I forget which temple exactly. I believe Ta Prohm.

Anyhow, the trees have run riot over the ruins and the roots grew around this stone head. It's amazing how nature adapts, even to big heads.

I wish I had put on some lipstick.

Hatshepsut's Temple and my big head

Here's me in front of Hatshepsut's temple in Egypt. Man, that hat, that cheapo $8. Target hat that I tied a scarf around that came free with a British Gamour magazine, saved my life. Well, that and a lot of sunscreen.

2004 was a big year for me, I just realized. I went to Morocco and Egypt and Prague and Germany and did a solo trip through Europe. Both my grandmothers died that year. I had a miscarriage. I spent a week in London with one of my best friends right after HER miscarriage. My brother got divorced. I ogt really drunk in Ireland.

2005 was not quite as eventful, but still pretty packed. Moved house and went to Amsterdam and Paris with a friend, and to Budapest and Edinburgh with Rich.

As for 2006? Well, I've already been to the US, and have a trip to Thailand and Laos planned for March. We're supposed to go to Italy next week, but I think that will not happen as the Olympics have increased room prices and I, for one, would rather save for Thailand.

What's all this got to do with my big head? Not much. Just thinking out loud.

she's so gonna kill me

Big head picture of my Mom. We were in France, in 2002, on a very long car trip. I said "Mom!" and right as she looked at me I snapped the picture. Thing was, she wasn't scared. This is a classic family expression, one I deem the "deer in the headlights". We just look like this is all. Never fails. I have scads of pictures of me and Mom, mostly, making this face.
I blame her for the loss of my supermodel career before it ever started. I am just SO not photogenic. (Or skinny, but whatever.)

Big Yoshi Head

This is the dearly departed dog of my college friend Dan. He was Yoshi, the Big Headed, and he was 12.

May his big ol' head be rompin' in doggie heaven.

oooh something new!

A little eye candy for you. There is still a big head in there, so it's kosher. Big other stuff, too.

scary thing is, I have many pictures of her doing the same thing.....LOVE you Karla May!
