Big Head Ellie Little Boston

Ellie poses with her Lazy Gesture of Destruction. You may think it's just a charmingly feminine and casual movement, but NO! She takes out whole communities with that thing! "Mom! Hey Mom! Look what I can do! I'll take that building out with just a lazy flick of my wrist!"
I don't know where I was going with that story. Sometimes my creativity is not understandable even by me.
Ahem. This is Ellie. And she's posing her big head in Boston. She has a little sister who is equally as cute. And red headed.

Big Head on the Water

Julia's big head on the water. Very Jackie O. I'm not sure if this is in Oslo on the Oslo Fjord or not.

Norwegian Wood Scream

Harald is a rock star in Norway. I think the job is getting to him. Or maybe he's afraid of heights? Don't jump Harald! It's ok!!!!!
(He's actually a very normal and mild person. I think he just gets excited when it's Big Head Picture Time.)

Maybe this picture will make you smarter?

Here's my friends Lisa and Lee in Boston. At Hah-vahd. (Harvard.) Big heads fit lots of knowledge.

I saw where the guy who founded Harvard was born in London, in Southwark. He might have been a pal of Shakespeare's. Small world, no?

Big head little Budapest Castle

Me in front of Budapest Castle.

April, 2005.

Yo people, send me your big head shots, or you are gonna be looking at a whole lotta me and Rich and not much else. Now, while *I* am perfectly happy, egotistical person that I am, to plaster my mug all over the 'net, it might get boring for you, so send me some shit, ok? Get creative! Send 'em to me! The address is right over there on the right. And I promise to be better about checking that account. Really, I promise.

Run run little art lover!

I was at the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam. Right as I got into the room pictured, a woman walked up and took a photo of this painting. It's one of my all time favorites. So I'm like, "Dude. She took a picture. That means it must be ok". So I grabbed my camera and did my big head big art shot. I tried to be a bit discreet by covering the flash with my thumb so as to lessen the impact.

A guard saw my little teeny flash and starting yelling at me. And that damn guard followed me around for the rest of my visit. I even explained that there was a lady who took a picture before I did, with a MUCH BIGGER FLASH, but that apparently was not the right thing to tell her, because she yelled at me more. I finally escaped to the bathroom, hung out for a while, and made my hasty exit once I was assured she did not wait for me outside the door.

Moral of the story? When taking pictures of art, well, just don't take pictures of great art, ok?

Cultural Big Head

I met a traveler from an antique land
Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert...Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed:
And on the pedestal these words appear:
"My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.

Big Head Beefeater

This Tower of London Beefeater was nice enough to give me the BigHead treatment.
Wait, that didn't come out right AT ALL. Pretend like I never wrote that.
This was in London, July '04.

Grand Theft Photo

This is my doppelganger, Fofusa. She's got a big ol' head, and big hair too. What's not to like?
She's in Prague for this one.

I steal pictures sometimes

This picture just cracks me up. Completely and totally. I love the bunny on the left. He's all like "Yo. 'S'up?"

I stole it from Bonnie. I wish her luck in her move back to the US.

I stolded this picture

With many thanks to Bonnie, I stole this great picture from her blog of her son, Mike, with "Steve" the pigeon, on his shoulder. They were in Venice. Mike is brave. Steve is obviously an opportunist of the first order.

When I was in Venice I did not let a bird land on me. In fact, I spent most of my time on the Piazza San Marco flapping my hands about so they would not come near me. Eeek!

Big Head Kitty 2

Digger, this time dressed for Cinco de Mayo? Who knows, but I feel his pain. It's hard to be loved THAT much.

Big Head and Louvre

Here's my big bean at the Louvre, in March. Paris, rainy cold day. Still amazing.
And Yeay Blogger, for FINALLY making it possible to post pictures directly, instead of having to go through Hello or Flickr. Way cool.

Feline Big Head

big head kitty, posted by karlakp.

This is Digger, my friend's cat. He is usually more dignified. And awesomely patient.
His "parents" Sue and John, live in Austin. (But John's British, and Sue's a Yank, so that explains the wierdness and the tendency to dress up Kitty.)
(Just kidding you guys. No really. KIDDING.)

big mona lisa, little me

This is an art piece that was placed all over Venice. Just the Mona Lisa, in yellow,in squares and communal areas everywhere. You couldn't miss her. Part of the Venice Biennale.
Anyhow, I had to get the big head shot.

cow head, posted by karlakp.

A picture of a cow I took while hiking through the Gap of Dunlow, Ireland.
I like cows. They just seem so cozy.
I like chickens, too, but don't have any big head pics of them. I'll try for some next time I go back to my parents'.
Hmm. I must've been a farmer in a previous life.

Flickr

This is a test post from flickr, a fancy photo sharing thing.

hello hello?

Hello software is not working. That's what i use to upload pictures to this blog.

I have no idea what's up, but when I try to log in, it says "UI is failing to initialize" and then tells me to reinstall. So I reboot, just to check. Nope, no work. So then I reinstall. Nope. Uninstall AND reinstall. Nope.

Shit.

Anyone having this problem?

Anyhow, no Hello means no pictures until I get this worked out. Advice is welcome.

I thought you might be tired of looking at my big mug, so here's a mug of another sort. Big foamy head of beer.....I love puns, so I will stop there. This was on the Mosel River Germany. Mmm....Jever Beer. Yummy.

Dad and Kit's big heads in Geubershwihr, in the Alsace Lorraine region of France. More German than French, really, in feeling. We were staying at a winery. This was before the drinking commenced.

Karen's big head in Dubai. Can you believe it's the size of a building? That's ONE BIG HEAD.

My bighead being completely wind whipped on top of a tower on Calton Hill, in Edinburgh, Scotland. No, my hair does not normally do that. However, it was so windy that it tended to be my skirt on my head, rather than my hair. I feel lucky that this shot shows my face, not my ass.

My brother's big head in Western Norway, on the Norway in a Nutshell tour. See how tiny the people are compared to his big ol' bean?

The ultimate bighead picture

Dan, looking fairly evil, while skydiving. Is that cool or what? I'm just glad the guy he's attached to did not drop the camera.
I really don't think anyone can top a bighead picture like this...though if anyone has one from, say, Mt. Everest, be sure and send it!
